Post Module _librsync
Hi,

I have recently installed on linux rdiff-backup V 0.12.7 with
librsync-0.9.6 and Python 2.3, but when I execute a simple command to
backup a file I get:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/local/bin/rdiff-backup", line 20, in ?
import rdiff_backup.Main
File "/usr/lib/python2.3/rdiff_backup/Main.py", line 25, in ?
import Globals, Time, SetConnections, selection, robust, rpath, \
File "/usr/lib/python2.3/rdiff_backup/SetConnections.py", line 30, in ?
import Globals, FilenameMapping, connection, rpath
File "/usr/lib/python2.3/rdiff_backup/connection.py", line 529, in ?
import Globals, Time, Rdiff, Hardlink, FilenameMapping, C, Security, \
File "/usr/lib/python2.3/rdiff_backup/Rdiff.py", line 22, in ?
import os, librsync
File "/usr/lib/python2.3/rdiff_backup/librsync.py", line 27, in ?
import _librsync, types, array
ImportError: No module named _librsync

Moreover, I have tried to execute inside python "import _librsync"
and I have obtained the same result.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

David

On a server of mine (running Fedora Core 1), the contents of
/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/rdiff_backup are as stated on
http://troels.arvin.dk/misc/rdiff-backup-dirlisting/

The "_librsync.so" file links like this (output of "ldd _librsync.so"):

librsync.so.1 => /usr/lib/librsync.so.1
libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/libc.so.6
libpopt.so.0 => /usr/lib/libpopt.so.0
libbz2.so.1 => /usr/lib/libbz2.so.1
libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2

What about your system. What's the contents of its
"/usr/lib/python2.3/rdiff_backup/" directory?
