Hello Rdiff users,
This is areal basic resotre question.
I am trying to resotore a directory from 40 days ago to a new temporary
location.

rdiff-backup -r 45D gw.steamboatarchitectural.com::/saa-samba/Data/SAA
Projects/A-L/Gagliano /home/Gagliano

I am logged into the "gw" machine the backup resides on the same machine

My result from rdiff is "Error: Error parsing commandline options
See the rdiff-backup manual page for instructions"

Thanks

Paul

Is there a space between "SAA" and "Projects"? If so, you'll need to
quote the entire source string.

Keith et al,
Here's where we are now.

rdiff-backup -r 44d "/samba-saa/SAA Projects/A-L/Gagliano" /home/walter

Still getting error parsing commands. the back data and the target are
all on the same machine.

The back-up is initiated by this machine to backup data on a remote machine.

Maybe you are using some weird shell that doesn't recognize " as a
quoting character? Use capital "D" for days. You can also try:

cd "/samba-saa/SAA Projects/A-L"
rdiff-backup -r 44D Gagliana /home/walter

so there are no space issues.
