UpdateError MFG/Final_tst/FCtest2/ftdata/200:2591 TEMP TEST.TXT [Errno 2] No such file or directory
I realize there are some special characters in this filename.
I'm backing up a dos filesystem here.
Would the ":" be a special character that simply should not be in a filename?

In general a colon shouldn't pose any problems. I see the filename
has "TEMP" in the name, maybe it was modified/erased while
rdiff-backup was running? That's the usual reason for UpdateErrors.
There's no reason to worry unless you are getting updateerrors every
session on the same files.
