I'm trying achieve the following, is this possible with the same base back up folder, rather than duplicating data twice? Surely it's a case of just creating 2 sets of diffs or am I missing something? How though with telling rdiff-back to --remove-older-than but not remove the 1st of each months we're keeping for longer?
I want nightly backups - kept for 30 days.
I want monthly backups (ie. 1st of each month) - kept for a few years.
It's all off the same source data. Surely I don't need to store the base data twice (say it's 1TB, that's 2TB before you have even started!)?
