Remote Backup using 2 Different Versions
Author Message
Post Remote Backup using 2 Different Versions
I have a backup server running Red Hat 9 and rdiff-backup version 1.5k.

I will be backing up a remote server running Fedora Core 1. I was about
to install rdiff-backup version 0.12.7 on the remote server so I could
initiate the backups from the backup server.

Do both versions have to be the same on each server?

Thanks.

Generally yes. A small difference will sometimes work but it is safer
to have them the same.
