Post SGID error..
#rdiff-backup -V
rdiff-backup 0.12.7
#

Client: FreeBSD 4.X
Recieving end: FreeBSD 5.3

problem:
When copying eg /sbin/ccdconfig it crashes:

# ls -l /sbin/ccdconfig
-r-xr-sr-x 1 root kmem 66248 Oct 17 14:47 /sbin/ccdconfig

or, any file with "s" flag..

/usr/local/bin/rdiff-backup -v5 --exclude /proc --exclude-special-files
--exclude-device-files / backup < at > <host>::/usr/local/backups/rdiff/<computer>

Processing changed file sbin/ccdconfig

if i change the login to
/usr/local/bin/rdiff-backup -v5 --exclude /proc --exclude-special-files
--exclude-device-files / root < at > <host>::/usr/local/backups/rdiff/<computer>

(yes, root)

then all works..

why?

Uh, not having touched FreeBSD in a long time, and being only half-awake,
I can only speculate that the user "backup" is not allowed to create
files that are SGID kmem on the target filesystem.

bressen:/tmp$ touch foo
bressen:/tmp$ chmod +s foo
bressen:/tmp$ chgrp music foo
bressen:/tmp$ chgrp kmem foo
chgrp: changing group of `foo': Operation not permitted
