Hi,
I am new to this forum.I want to configure backup solution for Linux
servers.Actually we have 40+ Linux server which contains some databases,
Applications and others internal development servers. For those servers,we
need to configure centralized backup solution.
So please guide me that. Can i use rsnapshot for this requirement?
Yes. You'll need to decide how you want to back up the databases. I'd
personally suggest you use the database's own backup solution to back
up locally and then back that up.That will make database recovery
simpler.
If you haven't already, do read the documentation (http://rsnapshot.org/).
Please share your suggestions for my above requirement. Also share your ideas
for H/W system for this.
How much data is there at rest just now? How often do you plan on
running a backup? How much data will change during that period? What
kind of retention are you looking at?
Without that, and more, there's no way anybody can tell you what
hardware to use...
