Doing snapshots to snapshot_root/backup_

Post Doing snapshots to snapshot_root/backup_
Hi,

I was looking around for a script to do snapshot-style backups, and
rsnapshot looks like the most mature of the bunch. One thing that is
missing though, and that would be very useful for multi-user setups
would be the ability to have a backup_root/interval.x directory
arrangement (controlled by an option in snapshot.conf) in addition to
the current interval.x/backup_root. With this setup, I could mount the
snapshot for each user for easy access inside their home directory, for
example...

Any likelyhood of that feature getting added?

Thanks,

Christian

Christian,

Does Bill's answer work for you? Or do you still feel that a software
change would be better?

It would probably be a fairly major addition, but I always like hearing
how the program can be improved.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I just have multiple config files, and specify the config file with -c
when invoking rsnapshot via cron.

Then I have /snapshots/ohno, /snapshots/gumby, etc, each with their
daily.0, hourly.x, etc underneath that.

Bill
