I'm trying to find out if we can backup up our various hosts
with this tool and a central repository for the backups.
Currently, we have 7 Win2000 Pro workstations,
2 FreeBSD workstations, 3 FreeBSD servers.
We've been experimenting with native rsync, (on the
backup server as a daemon, and clients on all the other
computers). We're more or less looking for a "system"
that would use rsync to simulate a full backup daily,
(using the hardlink method), with 7 (sun-sat) versions.
If its possible, a cron driven local process for the servers,
to backup to a seperate harddrive in the same system,
(akin to the examples in the documentation:
backup /a/fs localhist/a/fs
the remotes would be:
backup /a/fs fuzzy < at > 192,168,215,5::backup/a/fs
with 192.168.215.5::backup (a filesystem on .5
that is the rsync fs root)?
Thanks in advance
Fuzzy
