Wow. It looks like the FAQ has a update with an rsync 'post' operation
that covers it, at http://rsnapshot.org/faq.html
# Can I set the snapshot_root to a remote SSH path? I want to push my
backups to a remote server, rather than pull them from a remote
server.
The detailed explanation is quite intelligent, coverying my SSH
requirements and using a post-rsync tool to trigger an rsnapshot
command. It's quite a clever little implementation, I'm quite
impressed.

All the data continuously generated in your IT infrastructure contains a
definitive record of customers, application performance, security
threats, fraudulent activity and more. Splunk takes this data and makes
sense of it. Business sense. IT sense. Common sense..
