Post rsnapshot naming
rsnapshot creates

/{rootdir}/{hourly.0}/{backupname}...

I'd prefer it to be

/{rootdir}/{backupname}/{hourly.0}...

to match what's expected by users on our netapp drives. (In
this case {backupname} would be ".snapshot")

Is this possible?

Maybe there could be a feature to allow an arbitrary
printf-ish format string for building the name of the
destination?

Thanks.

Hallo, Wilson,

Du meintest am 25.02.10:

rsnapshot creates

/{rootdir}/{hourly.0}/{backupname}...

No - there is no need for "backupname".

I'd prefer it to be

/{rootdir}/{backupname}/{hourly.0}...

Put "backupname" into "rootdir".

Viele Gruesse!

No. The design of rsnapshot is that a snapshot (hourly.0) consists of a
copy of each backup point ("backupname"). If you want it the other way
around, you should be using multiple configuration files, each with a
single backup point.
