And please remember that the name "hourly" is really just a name. It
needs to be pointed out from time to time that the name could also be
"blue" or "alpha" or "whatever". It is just the CRON or whatever starts
rsnapshot which defines the real backup-time and backup-interval.

Post rsnapshot on laptop 
I do this by running a cronjob on another computer that looks to see f the target machine is on . if so , it mounts some stuff and then backs it up .

is the script - let me know if its any usd or you have improvements ( it was/is my first, and so far only , serious bash script) . you can change the frequency that it looks for the machine by the conjob  on the server .
