Hallo, Benjamin,

Du meintest am 09.07.11:

I am Looking for a webinterface for rsnapshot.

Web interfaces tend to be unsure.
Rsnapshot backups contain files which only root may access.

It's no good idea to install a backdoor for malicious guys.

All of the data generated in your IT infrastructure is seriously valuable.
Why? It contains a definitive record of application performance, security
threats, fraudulent activity, and more. Splunk takes this data and makes
sense of it. IT sense. And common sense.

Hallo Helmut Wink

Ich schreibe mal auf Englisch weiter

For shure you have to organize your backups in a way that there is no root access necessary, but the a webinterface could give cool options.

I am working on a solution where to netdrive , webdrive or similar tools to get a windows drive by using an ftp or ssh connection. I want to push data to the drive by local Backup Tools. Then I want to access these files also by web interface e.g. Pictures by Picture Browser and Musik by WebPlayer. In relation to rsnapshot i want to see the Backup Status and maybe get an old file / tarball of all files via the web.

greetings
Ben

We wrote a simple wrapper around rsnapshot, which manages removable
media (encrypted), and also has a basic status page (last successfully
backup, media status, usage graphs over time etc.).

Let me know if you're interested, and I'll try and get some time to
publish it.

Tim.

I put a simple patched lighttpd with directory listing to handle
serving files with root permissions, together with an htaccess on top,
it worked like a charm, especially to quickly recover one or two
files.

patents in Europe, the patent establishment changed its strategy.
Instead of explicitly seeking to sanction the patentability of

court, which would establish and enforce patentability rules in their
favor, without any possibility of correction by competing courts or
democratically elected legislators."

OK - good to see there seems to be some interest in it now. I'll see if
I can make some time (probably won't be for a week or two) to publish
it. It's a bit rough around the edges, but a good starting point.

Tim.
