Forcing Catalog NOT to use scratch pool?
Author Message
Post Forcing Catalog NOT to use scratch pool?
Is there a way to force the catalog not use the scratch pool? I have a pool
of tapes with difference labels that I use for scratch. I would prefer the
catalog fail rather than use scratch. (PITA to have to re-label the tapes
when they go back into the library)

TIA

With Vault you specify a pool for the catalog backup to use.

I assume you are using the Vault option for
your catalog backups?

If so, then the only way you can guarantee
that vault won't pull from the scratch pool
for catalog backup tapes is to make sure that
the catalog backup pool (as configured in the
vault profile) ALWAYS has available media.
