hi,

i'm planning a system with several servers (each node is to be a SSO
MediaServer) with NBU 5.1.

NBU is to be clustered in SunCluster 3.1 (both NetBackup and Media Manager).

NBU Master/Media is to be HA and can fail over to any node in the cluster
(cluster consists of serveral nodes).

in details:

host A runs Master/Media server with a library connected. other
servers/cluster_nodes run SSO Media Server. if master fails, NBU migrates to
any other cluster node with full functionality: MASTER+MEDIA.

has anyone installed a similar architecture? according to veritas/sun
documents this configuration IS supported (since NBU5.0GA + SunCluster 3.0
U1). but there always is a difference between IS SUPPORTED and REALLY WORKS ;-)

also the docs from veritas are not as clearly written as they should be, so
i still have many questions.

I have done something similar with 4.5 and using scripts to move from one node to another.

It was totally manual since the master is monitored 24/7. budget folks determined VCS was not necessary.
