What OS / server type is your media server?
Do you have size_data_buffers set to a number greater than 64K for =
backups?
Are you restoring from disk or tape?
=20
Notes from Veritas support docs -
=20
VERITAS NetBackup uses variable length tape block sizes which =
correspond to
the data buffers used by NetBackup. However, in Windows NT, Windows =
2000 and
Windows XP the variable block sizes are limited to 64KB. With some SCSI
adapters and host bus adapters (HBAs), this limit is 128KB. As a =
result,
data buffers on Windows media servers are limited to 64KB as well. =
Failure
to follow this guideline can cause the inability to restore backed up =
data
and may result in messages such as the backup image
=20
By default the size of Windows data buffers is set to 64KB. This can =
be
modified by creating the
<install_path>\netbackup\db\config\SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS file (where
<install_path> is the path in which NetBackup was installed. By =
default,
this is c:\Program Files\VERITAS) and populating it with a value
representing the size (in bytes) of the data buffer.
Workaround:
It may be possible to temporarily work around problems with restores by
enabling fixed length blocks. This is done on the media server involved =
in
the restore by performing the following steps:=20
1) Create the following file:
<install_path>\netbackup\db\config\FIXED_LENGTH_BLOCKS=20
2) Stop and restart the NetBackup services=20
3) Attempt the restore that had failed previously=20
4) After the restore is complete, remove the FIXED_LENGTH_BLOCKS file =
and by
stopping and restarting NetBackup services
Solution:
Ensure that the <install_path>\netbackup\db\config\SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS =
file on
the Windows media servers does not have a value greater than 65536 in =
it. If
changes were made to this file, stop and restart the NetBackup services =
on
the Windows media server.
The technical details regarding the limitation of variable block sizes =
to
64KB is described in Microsoft Technet article Q152518 (Tape Variable
Blocksize Limited to 64K Bytes).

Are you using the rman scripts to do the restore?
=20
Se the rman logs to know the reason of the error.
