status 57 for XP client

Post status 57 for XP client
Hello all,

I've been fighting with a Windows XP client for a couple weeks. The
backup attempts keep failing with a Status 57 - client connection
refused. We have a second XP client with that was built with the same
image, and that one backs up just fine.

I've double checked to make sure the XP firewall is disabled. I've
also tried kicking off the backup from the client side. What am I
missing?

Any tips or info with this would be greatly appreciated.

Almost all status 57 errors are caused by forward or
reverse lookup problems. From the client at a command
prompt run the following:

nslookup master_server_name
nslookup media_server_name (if different)
nslookup master_server_ip_address
nslookup media_server_ip_address

Then from the master/media server run:

nslookup client_name
nslookup client_ip_address

Alternately, the fast way to see if that is the
problem is to add the master/media server name and ip
to the host file on the client and vice versa. If that
fixes it, it is a lookup problem.
