Problems with LVD drive

Hi list,

I have CA BrightStor ARCServe Backup r11.5 SP3 running on a Solaris 10 box with a SUN L700 attached.

The robot have 10 LTO SCSI HVD drives. After the installation of an additional LTO SCSI drive, only that this one was a LVD type drive, backup JOBs started normally, but once one job ended, the next ones didn´t start. When the last JOB came executed, the ARCServe acted as it was lost or something...we tried to reinitialize ARCServe, but it couldn´t load anymore.

When the LVD drive was removed from the L700 unit, all backup operations came back to normal.

Does anyone know what is going on? Is there any restrictions regardind HVD and LVD drives working toghether...or any special configuration on ARCServe?

Any help is appreciated.

Mario

There are serious h/w compatibility issues w/having lvd/hvd drives on the same bus. If you had them on separate buses you may have had the new drive plugged into the wrong card type or not terminated.

Ah, Scsi. The memories. :)
