Can DR be performed to dissimilar hardware.

Is it possible using the DR module to perform a DR to a different hardware platform?

Example: Old PC is a Dell Optiplex GX280 it dies a horrible death. Replacement is a Dell Optiplex 740. Will this restore work?

I know that I will have to edit the carddesc.txt and asr.sif to reflect the new NIC.

No it is not possible.

You might try and it might work but still not at all advisable.

You might have to face lots of different issues in the process but be sure CA wont help you in that case.
