File requirement for backup enviroment

[b]I am chasing ghost within my backup environment :evil: I am having devices disconnect, media errors and so no. The question I have is there KB and QFE files I need to make sure are installed to reduce the some of the problems I am encountering? Also are there some other areas I may need to look into to ensure a strong backup environment.

OS: Windows 2003 Server, Enterprise Edition
Backup Software: Data Protector 6.0
Environment: Brocade SAN 12,000 & 3900 switches
Devices: IBM LTO2
