Windows Server 2019 client?
September 08, 2019 12:59AM
Folks,

Seems the Software Compatibility Guide has been replaced with a web site that I can't figure out. Does anyone know if NetWorker supports Windows Server 2019 yet?

Thanks,
/Frank

In regard to: [EMC-DataProtection-L] Windows Server 2019 client?, Francis...:

And it seems like the original web tool
(http://compatibilityguide.emc.com:8080) is either being replaced or
isn't being kept up to date. The release notes for NetWorker 18.2
indicate that compatibility information is now in "NetWorker E-LAB
Navigator", https://elabnavigator.emc.com/eln/elnhome

Looking in that tool (Simple Support Matrices->Data Protection and then
choose "NetWorker"), it looks like:

NetWorker Client 18.1 supports up through Windows Server 2016
NetWorker Client 18.2 includes both Windows Server 2019 and Windows 10
(64-bit) in its list.

Yes, in version 19. Older versions 8.x and 9.x do not officially support it. Older versions will backup filesystems, as we did a test, but not sure how well it will handle OS issues.

And I agree the new compatibility matrix, on the new support site, is unnecessarily complicated.
